The German international midfielder Mario Gotz has joined Liverpool from Bayern Munich in January.
Gotze will join the club for a fee of €37 million.
He will make his first start in the Bundesliga for the Reds on Saturday in a 3-2 friendly victory over Bayer Leverkusen.
Gotz scored twice in the match, his first coming after the break in the 68th minute.
Bayern Munich have a history of winning away matches in the league with their home team, as the Bavarians won six times in the last eight years.
In addition to the Bundesliga clash, the Reds also play the first of a six-match road trip that begins on Wednesday against Bayer Leverkamp.
Liverpool head to the UK for a five-game tour that ends on Saturday.
They will be on the road for a second consecutive match on Wednesday when they host Manchester United in the first leg of their Champions League quarterfinal tie.
