Galatasaşa are in the race to beat Besiktas to become Turkish football’s most valuable club.
The Istanbul club are looking to overturn a poor start to their campaign by beating the Turkish giants 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
With a win, the Galatas could overtake Besiktspor and become the first Turkish club to win back-to-back league titles since Istanbul FC in 2003 and 2004.
There is still time for the game to be replayed, however, as Galatastas head coach Hakan Peris was due to be present at the game.
Peris told the Turkish outlet Anadolu Agency: “We are confident of winning the match and we hope to achieve this by the end of the evening.”
The match will be shown live on the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) channel on BT Sport and Turkish TV channels.
Galatasarak’s fans will be hoping to see their team back in action in a match that was not without its ups and downs.
Last weekend, the side were knocked out of the Europa League by Sevilla in the first round, with a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the Turkish champions, as well as the Turkish side’s 0-0 draw with FC Basaksehir in the Europa Cup semi-final.
Perhas was not available for comment on the game on Sunday, but it’s understood he will be present on the pitch.
A total of 17 matches are scheduled to be shown on BT’s channel on Sunday.
The first game of the group stages will be played on Monday.
