Futsal World Cup: Kasper Pavelec set for Kasperps finish
Kasper Paap (Kasper Paap) will not make the final of the World Cup, but he is in the final, with Kasper Hasegawa (Kasper Hases) having won the last two tournaments.
The Dutch defender’s victory at the last four editions of the tournament has secured his place in the World Club Cup, with the Netherlands set to face Australia, Uruguay and Japan in the semi-finals.
The final is set to take place in Brisbane, Australia on August 3.
The game against Australia will be the third of the five World Cup qualifiers, the last three having been played in Turkey.
Kasper Kallman scored the winner in the second leg of the last round against the Netherlands, in a match that saw the Dutch team lose 1-0 in Istanbul.
In the first leg, Kasper scored the opener against Australia in Istanbul and has now won three consecutive games to clinch his spot in the last eight.
The match against the Socceroos is the first of two against Uruguay.
The Uruguay squad is not expected to make the finals but is expected to qualify for the finals as the tournament is still to decide who will advance to the quarter-finals and semi-final stages.
The Netherlands squad is expected at the next edition of the qualifying tournament in September.
The first match will be played in Rotterdam, Netherlands on September 9, with Brazil, Argentina, Colombia and the Netherlands expected to participate.
Brazil have qualified for the last five World Cups, with two victories in the 2010 and 2012 tournaments.
Colombia have qualified three times in the tournament, and Japan have qualified once.
The last match against Brazil will be in Sao Paulo, Brazil on October 13.
The tournament will start on October 15 in Istanbul, with Australia expected to play their first game of the competition on October 18.
Brazil beat Argentina 3-0 on aggregate in the qualifying round of the 2010 World Cup.
Australia defeated Uruguay 3-1 in Istanbul in the qualification round of their 2012 World Cup campaign.
